Linda Thorson to host charity auction with Paul O’Grady

We are delighted to announce that Linda Thorson will now be joining Paul O’Grady in hosting the charity auction at the Saturday night Hellfire Club party. Prizes include:

  • A signed copy of Marcus Hearn’s book The Avengers: A Celebration 50 Years of a Television Classic (signed by various cast & crew).
  • Hardback copy of Laurie Johnson’s book Noises In The Head – The Photobiography together with a 3 CD set of original soundtrack recordings from The Avengers. Laurie will also send a personalised card to the winner.
  • Original pieces of clothing from the The Avengers – donated by Cyd Child.
  • Pre Production Samples of the Talking Deluxe Avengers Gift set featuring Steed & Mrs Peel. Items consist of test shots and paint tests on 4 heads of both Steed & Mrs Peel (8 in total) starting with an unpainted version, working through to the finished approved version. Along with the remaining production Deluxe Gift Set. (Donated by Steve Walker of Sixteen 12 Collectibles)
  • The Avengers complete collection DVD box set (courtesy of Optimum)

Elaine Spooner to present prizes at Pub Quiz

We are delighted to have Elaine Spooner (daughter of the late Dennis Spooner) attending the Friday night pub quiz and presenting the winning teams (1st and 2nd) with prizes.

Dennis Spooner wrote episodes of The Avengers and The New Avengers, and created The Champions, Department S, its spin off Jason King, and Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased).

The prizes for the first and second teams will be some exclusive Avengers 50th event merchandise (T-shirts, posters and mugs).

Charity Raffle

Along with the quiz we will also have a charity raffle (proceeds of which to be donated to charity along with the Auction). Tickets will be £1 each, and the prizes have been very generously donated by Steve Walker at ‘Sixteen 12′ Cult TV/Film collectibles. Raffle prizes include these very exciting items:

  • 1 x Tom Baker Deluxe statue / Limited Edition 500 Worldwide (Sold Out)
  • 1 x Infra Red Control Movie Daleks (Sold Out)
  • 1 x 12″ Talking Kenneth Williams figure from Carry On Cleo 3000 Worldwide (Sold Out)
  • 1 x 12″ Talking Gay Ellis from Gerry Anderson show UFO 3000 Worldwide (Sold Out)

The pub quiz is free to enter, and is happening on Friday 24th at the Old Cross pub on North Street, Chichester. The quiz starts around 9pm and doors open from 7:30pm.

Avengers charity auction

We can now announce some of the very special original items which will be available to bid on at the auction on Saturday night Hellfire Club. The auction will be hosted by Paul O’Grady and Linda Thorson.
